Caster: Desktop Wordle Clone

Caster is a Win32 application to create “Words Clouds”.

History

I developed Caster in 5 or 6 hours, after challenge myself to create something like the Wordle created by Jonathan Feinberg.

So I don’t created nothing, I only developed with Delphi the same solution as Jonathan but designed for Win32 plataform to be more fast and provide some advantages.

Help

Setup Colors: For each color box, you can select a disared color by clicking with the right mouse button to open the color selector helper.

Setup Font: You can select any Font type that was instaled on your PC, anyone. You can select the size variation of it ( be carefull with selecting a big size, because that can make Caster avoid the drawing of a word. Big words, big space needs ). You can also change the Anti-Aliase processing factor, to avoid bad results. NEW: Caster can create a proportional display of the word by it repetition.

Setup Display mode: Always when Caster will draw a word, him calculate the position of the word based on this configuration, that specify the possibles directions of the draw. Feel free to experience all modes before create the art.

Randomize: For even you are trying something new, you can use randomize to get new ideas.

Split words and format: If you have a big text with lots of repeated words, you can use this function to separate words and remove the repetitions.

To Lower Case: Convert all the words to lower case.

To Upper Case: Convert all the words to upper case.

Sort words: Will put the words on alfanumeric sequence.

Display Size: You can modify the display size to create with Caster the best display you need. AutoSize will configure the display to the current size of the Caster using all the space it have.
